23-05-2011 Torquay Update As agreed we will be holding racing over two days in Torquay. Saturday has listed 3B 3C and OCR - 3B and OCR is a National Race. 3C may chose to join the 3B race but this will not count for National or ORDA Championship Points these crews will decide on the day whether they will be joining the race.

Sunday Marathon, 3B, 3C, V24, OCR and Club Basic. This is a National and ORDA Championship Race. National Points will be awarded to 3C, 3B, V24, OCR and Marathon. Club Basic will be awarded ORDA Championship Points Only. All other classes will be awarded points for both National and ORDA Championship. It is to be noted you can only be awarded points for the ORDA Championship if you are an ORDA Member.

19-05-2011 Ian Stirling Drivers Trophy The Ian Stirling Drivers Trophy A Team Trophy which will be awarded to any sports (type) boat up to 200hp or 2Ltr Class 3C (i.e. can be Club (basic) or National where a crew are ORDA Members and the team participates in ORDA Point Races for 2011 Season, the first being Torbay Classic 27 28 29 May 2011. The winning team for 2011 will also win FREE ENTRY to 2012 ORDA Races.

12-05-2011 Torquay Marathon Boats Marathon Crews as per the Advance Programme will be required to rent a Tracker for this event. This is payable at Race Control when signing in where it will be issued and arrangements made to fit to the boat. The Cost of a Tracker is 87.20 recording progress at 2 minute intervals.

12-05-2011 Message from Shirley Simpkins Dear all, please find (Updated in Competitors area) Final verbally approved Race Instructions for Torquay 27 28 29 May 2011. These are now ready for publication to all crews on the ORDA Website, Boat Mad and email direct to all crews who require the information. We will be arranging to send these to all blue light services in Torbay along with the local Yacht Clubs and the Coast Guard so there is a full awareness of the event. We have placed banners in the town to publicize the event along with Posters which have been designed by Dave Ormiston which are also on display within the town when I visited yesterday. Entries for the event are looking strong, and we will be looking for crews to support the Friday and Saturday evening events which have been sponsored on the Friday by the Imperial Hotel and on the Saturday the traditional Commodores welcome Party at RTYC where crews will receive two free tickets per boat but all other guests will pay £10 per head for a two course meal and a glass of wine. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have supported with the arrangements of the event, and look forward to catching up with you all in Torquay on 27 May.2011.

12-05-2011 Torquay Advertising If there is anybody who can help advertise the May Torquay race please print the poster designed by Dave Ormiston (available in competitors area) and display it anywhere you can, Hopefully this year we can attract the crowds who will return for the 3B worlds in September.

28-04-2011 Important Class 3 Canopy Information Message from the RYA: Dear All, Please find herewith attached the documents produced by the -Cockpit Working Group- which provides some guidelines on how to build and inspect the main elements of closed cockpits/canopies. Regarding the cockpits in Offshore Class 3C, the UIM Council decided at the UIM Council Meeting held in Monaco on the 27th of February 2011 that no UIM titled events will take place in Class 3C without closed cockpits.

Race Entry for Littlehampton, Plymouth Final Race Instructions online, Updated Advance Programme for Torquay *You will see from the Programme the Entry Fees have changed slightly, and we will also be holding medicals as well as training on the Friday for those who still require them. I have also put in details of the functions to be held in Torquay, which have been sponsored by the Imperial Hotel and Royal Torbay Yacht Club, so we need as many as possible to come along as they have agreed to replicate this if it is successful for the Worlds in September. A Free Disco at the Imperial on Friday night for all crews and families, at the yacht club a function offering 2 free tickets per boat any further tickets £10 per head for a two course meal and a glass of wine for the Saturday*

21-3-2011 **URGENT** is there anybody willing (and able) to help with the towing and possible temporary storage of the ORDA trailer ? The Trailer would need to be towed to the ORDA event in Torquay for the May bank holiday ( Friday 27th May ) and if possible stored from now until then. 13-03-2011 Licences Please send licence applications that need to be endorsed to ORDA Membership Secretary asap to guarantee them being back in time for your first race. Please send only the page that needs signing and your photo, or the full application via recorded delivery to protect you information. Remember the post office does have a habit of losing thing! I recommend that you photocopy your medical form and keep a copy in case this happens Ashleigh
